When I decided to look into solar panels for my house to help offset my electric bills, I started with a list from the BBB website and Yelp and Angie’s list reviews … I always research extensively before I buy anything expensive. That’s what led me to YES, and I’m now convinced that it was time well spent.
I also decided to thermal barrier in the attic and the whole house fan. They really made a difference – I hardly had to run my AC this summer, only on a few hot days. The whole house fan really cools my house off quickly, with minimal electric usage.
YES has a storefront … where you can go see the equipment in advance, so you get no surprises when it’s delivered. Jim and Lou met me there on a weekend when they would normally be closed to accommodate my schedule, which I really appreciated since I don’t have a lot of spare time during the week. It’s nice to know they have a place you can go see them if you’ve got a problem instead of just working out of a car. Made me much more comfortable that they were in the business for the long haul.

I have lived in my split-level home for nearly a decade, unable to use my home office during the uncomfortable temperatures of the summer months. Forced to work from home during the pandemic, I decided to research possible solutions to amend my situation.

Due to Covid19 and social distancing measures, via FaceTime, Jim and I were able to diagnose the problem with my stifling, hot attic. On that initial call itself he figured out how many solar powered attic fans we would need to vent out the large mass of hot air in my attic.
The very same afternoon the solar powered attic fans were installed the difference was astounding. For the first time in several years I was able to comfortably use my top floor home office. I decided to take measurements a few days later to confirm what I was experiencing. Without air conditioning, my inside temperature was 77 degrees while it was 90 degrees outside. My attic floor was 89 degrees while the attic ceiling at the fan location was 117 degrees (nearly 30 degree difference!)
